Reasons for a full diagnostic assessment
Valuable Insights
Diagnostic assessments provide a clear understanding of dyslexia-related challenges, whether for educational, professional, or personal reasons. I use these insights to inform tailored strategies that support growth and development.
Recognising Strengths
The assessment process not only identifies areas for improvement but also highlights individual strengths, boosting confidence and motivation.
Advocacy & Support
These assessments empower parents to advocate for the right educational support and assist adults in accessing disabled students' allowances and workplace accommodations.
Empathy & Understanding
I ensure the process acknowledges the effort each individual puts into their work, helping them feel heard, supported, and understood.

How long does the assessment take?
Please allow up to 3 hours for the assessment. While this may seem like a long time, it’s designed to ensure there’s enough space for comfort breaks and movement as needed.
I take great care to build rapport with the individual, making sure the process feels relaxed and comfortable. While we follow test protocols, I strive to keep the atmosphere lighthearted to help everyone feel at ease.
What happens after the assessment?
Following the assessment, you will receive a detailed report that provides an in-depth analysis of the individual’s unique learning profile. The report will include tailored recommendations for support, as well as suggestions for onward referrals to other professionals if necessary.
The report will also include a diagnostic outcome, confirming whether a formal diagnosis of dyslexia has been made.
My support doesn’t stop with the report itself. I’m always available to offer practical guidance on how to interpret the findings and effectively implement the recommendations. My goal is to ensure the report is a valuable tool for you, your child, or the individual in question, helping them move forward in their learning journey with confidence.
I recommend sharing the report with relevant education providers or employers so that the recommended strategies and accommodations can be put in place to best support the individual’s needs.
Rest assured, the report will meet SASC (SpLD Assessment Standards Committee) guidelines and can be submitted in support of an application for Disabled Student Allowance (DSA), regardless of the individual’s age at the time of assessment.
