About me
Teacher
I’m a primary-trained teacher with over 25 years of experience working with young people who have SEND. Over the years, I’ve taken on roles like Literacy Intervention Lead, SENCO, teacher in a specialist setting for learners with complex needs, SEND Advisory Teacher, and SpLD Dyslexia Specialist Tutor and Assessor. I’ve worked with children of all ages and abilities, including those with Autism, Down Syndrome, complex needs, and sensory impairments.
I’m passionate about creating a fun, positive learning environment where every child feels supported and confident. Whether I’m tutoring, assessing, or leading interventions, my focus is always on helping kids overcome challenges and build the skills they need to succeed.
Nurturer
I’m a strong advocate for fostering a growth mindset in students, helping them embrace challenges and see setbacks as opportunities for growth. With support and encouragement, I believe every student can reach their full potential.
I’m committed to supporting neurodiverse learners, celebrating the unique strengths they bring and creating inclusive environments where all students feel valued and can thrive.
For me, mental health and well-being always come first. I believe emotional and psychological support is essential for learning, and when students feel safe and supported, they are more open to growth and success.
As both a teacher and a parent, I value strong partnerships with families. Open communication ensures we work together to meet each child’s needs both in school and at home.
I’m dedicated to creating a supportive, inclusive environment where every student feels seen, heard, and respected. I adapt my teaching to meet the individual needs of each learner, ensuring they have the tools and support to succeed.
Above all, I am driven by empathy, striving to understand each child’s unique challenges and provide a compassionate, supportive space where they feel understood and encouraged.

SEND advocate
I have a solid understanding of the EHCP process and the SEND Code of Practice, which allows me to effectively navigate the support pathways for students.
I've had the pleasure of working closely with local authority SEND teams, building strong, collaborative relationships to ensure the best possible outcomes for students.
As an advisory teacher, I’ve worked alongside SENDCOs in both primary and secondary settings to develop tailored strategies for students. This experience also enables me to offer practical, realistic advice to families, helping them feel supported throughout the process.
I’m familiar with SEND funding protocols across various local authorities, which helps ensure we’re maximising available resources, guiding families, and managing expectations effectively.
Additionally, I’m skilled at identifying and facilitating appropriate onward referrals to other professionals, ensuring students receive the comprehensive support they need from the right experts.
